The sky was dove grey, the water of the lake iron grey, the bare trees ash grey, the hills behind steel grey — my eyes were yearning for colours.

The little bay with tropical umbrellas looked particularly forlorn in the desolation of winter – made worse by complete shutdown of the complex due to a fire a few weeks ago. Luckily – I can add colour on my screen.

The tufted ducks could not be helped, they’re black and white even in summer. But at least I could put some blue water around them.
