This train runs for about 18km between Weinheim an der Bergstraße und Fürth im Odenwald. It was opened in 1895. The first part of the line – the part between Weinheim and Birkenau, less than 3km – needed two bridges and three tunnels.The photo shows “Tunnel 3”. There is a train running hourly and for many commuters, students and adults, it is the lifeline to access the metropolitan area just beyond the hills of the Odenwald.
