A devil’s point-of-view

Yesterday I was looking up, today I am looking down.

Our group was on a hike and we had a break at the Teufelsfels (devil’s peak) which is crowned by a tower called Langer Heinrich (long Henry). The mayor who was influential in having the tower built in 1985 was called Heinrich Heimfahrt – I wonder why they didn’t use his last name for the tower, it means literally “the drive home”. Which is what we did soon after.

But not before changing the perspective completely and looking out over the Hunsrück, the low mountain range stretching towards Luxembourg.

My Square Perspective no. 4 is linked to The Life of B.

  1. Oooh, you are a big group. We’re not allowed to have more than six in a walking group, and only then if the walk allows for the dreaded Social Distancing. I’m sticking with just one or two companions for a bit.

    1. That’s an old picture. We are allowed 10 (but only as of this week, I think). We are considering taking up our regular weekly meetings now. Up to now we had Zoom walks only and then we had walks where the trails was pre-marked and people had three days to complete it. If by chance meeting a friend on the way, distance was kept. Really, really shitty – and we call ourselves S,H.I.T.S. and still didn’t like it (= Saturday Hash In The Summer).

  2. ooh the first one made me giddy as I scrolled down!! Great squares, and fingers crossed you can walk soon.

Like Margaret we are not rushing out just yet – going to see how the next couple of weeks go. Our Government is making such strange decisions and keeping back so much of the data, it is very difficult to decide if it is safe or not

    1. I am also more on the careful side, for myself and doubly for my husband. But for our running group we came up with a viable plan with which I feel comfortable (for one: nor sharing of food or drinks, it’s strictly BYO, and no dancing after the run! 😭

and I know – they’re either corrupt, incompetent or callous, although probably all three 😦
