Many schools are named for Otto Lilienthal, the pioneer in aviation, particularly near Berlin, where he lived and tried out his gliding contraption.

I’m sure the first people seeing Lilienthal in the sky were as mesmerised as these onlookers – admiring a glider that flies through the air without motor.

I liked yours, too. Particularly the black and white one, the close up of the two seats.

If you can hold on to your lunch (you don’t want to know …) 🙂

I have been a passenger in a glider quite a few times and I have never had a problem “holding on to my lunch”! I guess you had a different experience!

My first experience was when I was nine. The pilot wanted to show off to my sister (she was on the ground and a bit older, he fancied her). Hence my lunch did not survive the loops and other strange things. I’ve been up twice more and each time was VERY apprehensive (because of the memory). Having said that I never enjoyed roller coasters, either. 🙂

I too don’t like roll coasters. Luckily my glider rides as an adult were with pilots who took my wishes into consideration.
