There is this little old house in our street. A couple of years ago it was renovated and the traditional half-timbered upper story was offset by the deep berry coloured groundfloor walls.
A quote from the Book of Proverbs from the Old Testament is written between two wooden beams:
Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established. (Solomon - Proverbs: 24:3) Which in the German translation seems more appropriate for an actual house: Through wisdom a house is built, through wit (or sense) it is kept.
And then I saw this house – in a town about 10 km away:


The same colour scheme, the same quotation, the same font.
But which one is an echo of the other?

I don’t know. I’ve never seen people around the house in our street whom I could ask. But I will be keeping my eyes open.
