I know Aino has asked for a colour collage based on the flag of Qatar. But when I saw it I immediately thought of the flag of Bahrain. It is basically the same except the shade of red is a tad lighter than the one from Qatar. When we lived in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, we were a bare 20 kilometres (and a causeway and a border on an artificial island) away from Bahrain. In those days my photos were analog, of course, but I made collages in the photo albums and I thought I share one such page today.
I think I can get away with it but I’ll add another collage with details from Bahrain and colours from Oman.

I believe you can get away with this 🙂
You have lived in an interesting place! I’ve never been to Saudi Arabia, but Oman I’ve visited. Only a brief trip just over the border when we were in Ras Al Khaimah for a week.
Interesting places, I really like those old, brown stone forts.

It was something I kept telling myself when Saudi life was difficult (I needed a written permit from my husband when I wanted to go somewhere a bit further away!) that I was experiencing that not that many people do (even though there were lots of expats around but in the greater world …). 😉 Were you holidaying in the UAE or living there for a while?

I was on holiday in UAE, stayed at Ras Al Khaimah, the smallest of Emirates, but we visited all the Emirates during our holiday.
Written permission sounds very saudi!

Wow, I did not know that! Thank you for educating, never been there and don’t even see it in my travel plan. Too many place so little time. But any place with archaeology always interests me.
