My younger son belonged to such a student Verbindung from our local high school. In Switzerland it is mainly men that partake, but in Germany there are also female groups and it was there that he met his wife on a Swiss German student get-together. I think my grandchildren are growing up with drinking songs. The students both from Switzerland and Germany were at his wedding in Germany and we have some wonderful photos where they posed with the bride and groom in their colours
