Do you call them snowdrops? I thought that was a different plant, these are Leucojum vernum, according to my dictionary spring snowflakes. – Glad you liked the tower – it’s got quite an interesting history – it was built to look medieval but was erected only in the early 19th century to serve as a place to hold picnics and parties for the local nobility.

A folly! Love follies, there are a few around here on old country estates, giving the landed gentry something interesting to look at in their carefully constructed landscapes.

I love that expression! The gentry in question landed on a farming estate that included the meadow on the ridge.
