Wire Art

I happen to be at the local cemetery today and noticed this sculpture. I think it is new but I’m not there often so I might be wrong.

It reminded me of other wire sculptures I’ve seen over the years:

The next is really far too small and only displayed on our shelf in the living room but I couldn’t let this theme go without adding the tortoise we bought in Zimbabwe. After all, she stood in the street with many of her brothers and sisters before we decided to take her home.

  1. I can imagine that wire is very hard to photograph – especially if it is near phone or electrical wires! But these are beautiful examples of public art. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  2. These are all nice. It is lovely that you were able to take that little tortoise into your home! What great remembrance of your travels.
