Axel Scheffler was in our town reading from The Gruffalo and other books he has illustrated with the author Julia Donaldson.
The pages of the book were shown on the electronic canvas behind him.
He then proceeded to use it as a traditional canvas to show how he draws the Gruffalo.
This picture is from Zog and the Flying Doctors. Seems like a curious cat.

I used to love reading the Gruffalo to kids when I worked in public libraries. That electronic canvas looks a great idea!

It’s a wonderful book. The German publisher of the story is in our town and that’s why we have a Gruffalo path with a sculpture of the mouse and the Gruffalo (actually it’s “Der Grüffelo” 😄) and Axel Scheffler was here for the inauguration.
