We were treated to air acrobatics by a small jet recently. The pilot was doing loops, and turns, and rolls, and spins, and obviously having fun. But it was very close to a town and we were worried because it was close to a built-up area.
Weekend Sky #39

There should not be a need to worry. There are several aviation restrictions in place for aerobatics. In the US, it cannot be done within restricted airspace. Also, a permit is required to do the aerobatics basically within a box in the air, both vertically and laterally. My hubby told me at least a few other limitations that I promptly forgot because I didn’t understand them. 😂 Hope that helps.

It wasn’t an US plane (I’ve asked my sources at Ramstein US airbase) but they said it doesn’t look as this kind of plane should be doing this kind of stuff over a built up area. 🤔
