German Yammering

There are lots of synonyms and near synonyms of “to yammer”. One of them is “to nag”. The same in German, many of them wonderfully onomatopoeic: jammern, wimmern, motzen, (weh)klagen.

German car number plates from Nürnberg and Kaiserslautern come in handy for an illustration.

The Ragtag Daily Prompt: Yammer

    1. I collect (photos of) number plates that make words. The first letters denote the area, i.e. if you live in Mannheim it’s easy to find MA-MA, MA-N or MA-NN, MA-US (mouse) etc. Wiesbaden is great for English words: WI-SH, WI-FE, WI-FI, WI-SE, WI-LD, WI-NE etc. We don’t see that many cars from Nürnberg (N-) or Hannover (H-). We used to live in Darmstadt (DA-) which is also good but our area now is Heidelberg (HD-) and that sucks.

      1. Yep, HD does suck and you’d have to reply on out of towners visiting to gather more for the collection.
Do you have a special folder for them and sub-folders too?
