Chauvinism is a socially acceptable form of birging.

I am German (and South African). I quite like Germany. I like German language and literature, so much so that I studied them at university. But I am not PROUD of Goethe’s Faust for example. I like it, possibly even love it – but I had nothing to do with its creation. So how can I be proud of it?
