Birkenau (in the Odenwald) is a large village or small town of just under 10,000 inhabitants. It also has more than 200 sun dials, free standing ones and on houses. Since 2021 the record is official: Birkenau has the world record in “laregest sun dial density in one place” (and yes, the wording of the record sounds as ridiculous in German).
