V-Effect in 3-D Art

I’m a theatre person so when I hear alienation I immediately think of Bertolt Brecht and the alienation effect he introduced with his concept of epic theatre. With this dramatic device Brecht wanted to “alienate” his audience from the characters and the action would thus appeal to the audience’s intellect and not their emotions.

This can be applied to other artforms as well. An unusual angle, an enhancement of a feature will distance the onlooker from the subject and have a different understanding of the piece of art.
