There are electric blinds, mostly used when the light hits the tv (rugby in the afternoon). But seven different flats in the building. We have four rooms.
Lace curtains always bring back memories of a peaceful cafe with guests reading the morning paper and enjoying a cup of coffee. They seem so calming, old-fashioned or not.

I never did understand the attraction of lace curtains 🤔

They are getting out of fashion. In our house (seven households) none of the living room windows have any curtains at all.

You have shutters? Seven rooms?
I have to have curtains to keep the heat out in summer and the heat in at wintertime
