Rietberg is a hilltop in the front row of the Palatinate Forest and thus overlooking the Upper Rhine Valley. One can ride an old rickety chair lift or walk up to the Rietburg, a fortress built in the 13th century. The actual top behind the castle is covered by an old wood, trees interspersed with large moss covered boulders. If it weren’t for the frequent hikers walking about it would feel like an enchanted part of a fairy world.

I played around with my camera settings adding light and contrast and atmosphere.

This last one is a bit too technicolor for my taste but also an unreal quality which is at least interesting.

I like the first and second images, which really have a bit of an otherworldly feel to them. A place I would love to visit
