
You’ve heard of elephant graveyards. This is a stone graveyard. Stones have been dragged away from here and if they are on their own, they are monoliths, I guess.
To give you an understanding of the scale of the rocks, here you are:
Still no Uluru but pretty large some of them.
The whole band of rocks is about 1.5 km long and between 100 and 150m wide:

Apparently it’s called spheroidal weathering, in German: wool sack weathering. I have a particular affinity to all things wool.
