These special tie dye technique is used in Zimbabwe. It’s a kind of batik process, mainly used for table cloths and the like.

Sadza is the Zimbabwean version of a stiff porridge made with fine maize meal and water, a staple diet in most of Africa. It is applied to the cloth where colour is not wanted, and different colours are applied to the other areas.



That sounds the kind of messy pursuit I’d enjoy, this kind of printing.
