Cee is asking for examples of the colour fern green. Now, the easy (and potentially beautiful) way out would be to show actual fern.

A restaurant in Scotland, a bus stop in Baden-Württemberg, a warning sign in France, a warning sign in Germany, a sign for a wine growing town, a sign for a scenic place near Frankfurt.

What a cool and fun way to show off the fern colors 😀

Trying to work out exactly what the last sign is for? As in which scenic place could it mean? 🙂

It took me a few years to work that one out. There are more signs around Frankfurt with this strange green being. It’s quite complicated to explain it in English. The animal is an armadillo which in German is called Gürteltier = belt animal (don’t ask). Frankfurt is surrounded by woods and fields, a green belt. And there is a hiking trail encompassing the whole of the city and the mascot is the “green belt animal”. This particular sign leads to a fountain / water playground. In the beginning, before I knew any better, I called it the “up chuck thing” (sorry).

Yeah, calling it the ‘up chuck’ thing makes sense to me! 🙂
