My recent visit to Freudenstadt im Schwarzwald showed me only dry fountains.
Even the drinking water fountain was barred up.
The fish, on the rim of the fountain, was gasping for water – yet, no relief.
The town does not experience a drought. I think the fountains have the water turned off because it gets cold in the Black Forest and the water in the pipes might freeze.

Definitely about the summer visit. But the branches are behind the fountains, it’s just a matter of perspective.
