Side note: There is a curious fact about Germans speaking English. There is no sound “w” as in water, woman, wolf, etc. Hence Germans often pronouncing this as “vater”, “voman”, “volf”, and particularly in cliché films: “Komm her, you svine!”. But most Germans, at least younger ones, have mastered the “w” wery vell and they completely overcompensate, hence ve often say “wegetable”, “walley”, “wast”, and yes, “wessel”. Amongst our English speaking friends living in Germany ve often start toasts viz “Let’s raise our wessels …”
