The look from across the small pond in the Weinheim castle grounds with Blauer Hut, Wachenburg, and Windeck in view.

Getting up close (and leaving out the pond and all other foreground).

Concentrating solely on the tower and clipping the two castles on the hill.
Switching from landscape to portrait.
The walk behind the pond towards the gate and the forest beyond.
Moving in.

And this time switching from potrait to landscape.

And a total different take.

I love architecture. Especially from this time period. These are some great shots. I might have to ask you to use one of them in a story someday.

Nicely done. It’s interesting how the crop you choose changes so much what we perceive.

Very true. I’m actually trying to force myself lately of not taking pics too tightly framed and do the cropping afterwards at the pc.

I am guilty of that, too. I am even mentioning that in my post for the Monochrome Madness this week.

Wonderful Elke, the first one, I like the single tower, makes it look more isolated. I like the close up of the benches at the back. I wouldn’t have noticed the person at all in the shot if it hadn’t been cropped. Great job Elke.

Interesting. Each crop tells a different story.
