Sofi is the German short word for a solar exclipse and there was a partial one over Europe today. Only 17% where we are but still. However, we didn’t see any sun with a dent because of the cloud cover. The sun only came out a good three hours after the event. Now we’ll have to wait until next year in August.
Weekend Sky
I didn’t see it either, though our weather was better. A bit too partial I think.

Sofi is quite a unique name for solar eclipse.
I will link this up with the next episode of WeekendSky. Thanks for sharing 🙂

It’s short for SOnnenFInsternis (literally: sun darkness).
