Charles Baudelaire wrote “Les fleurs du mal”, a collection of poems. One of the more famous poems is called “L’albatros” where he describes the grace and beauty and strenght of this bird in the air and his clumsiness and “not belonging” on a boat. This is widely considered to be a metaphore for himself or artists in general, their feeling of not belonging in society. Quite convoluted, yes, I know.
