I’m not a birder or twitcher if you prefer. I recognise a few of the local species but that’s about it. Hawks have always confused me – and now I know why: they don’t translate properly from English to German and vice versa. Habicht can mean hawk or falcon and a few other names come in as well. But I’m pretty sure that in the picture above I’ve captured a hawk.
This photo I took late in the day, the red/pinkish hue is due to the sunset.
But this is my favourite probably hawk photo, obviously a springtime pic with perfect camouflage for the bird:
