I had to include photos from Red Dress Runs with these squares. The history is somewhat typical for the quirky traditions of this world wide drinking club with a running problem. In 1987 a woman was taken on a date, she donned a fancy red dress because she thought she was going to a restaurant. After her initial surpise, she joined the hashers in her red dress. The following year she repeated the experience inviting others to join her and they raised money for a local charity. Since then red dress runs have spread around the globe and are an annual fixture in many kennels around the world. One of the biggest is the New Orleans Hash House Harriers with around 7,000 participants. Rules are simple: Wear a red dress, run a bit, have fun, collect for a chosen charity.
