When you get up really early and you go down to the sea, beaches are deserted.
The steps towards the beach stand out stark against the pale morning light.
The sunshades are still rolled up an the beds are empty and without covers.
The beach restaurant is still locked and empty.
The trash from yesterday is taken away.
And now the sea and the beach are waiting for the sun.
And with the new day the fun seekers will come.

That was our Sardinian holiday and when I got up early our grandson wanted to come along. Really suprised me.

Did he wake you that’s why you were awake at that time. Most unusual or is it just holidays that get you out of bed early?

Once a year. And up to 2 years ago he would have woken me but he is 14 now and has started to adapt to teenager life (i.e. sleeping until noon).
