On rye or white? In Germany, even the street vendors offer more choices: Chiabatta, wild garlic ciabatta, onion bread, olive bread, Turkish pide, dark spelt flour bread, flûte, baguette, sweet yeast bread made with spelt flour with or without raisins, – that’s in addition to the standard wholewheat or white bread, rye bread made with sourdough. So, how would you like your sandwich?

Lucky you! You are spoilt for choice!!😀

Ah, the German bread spectrum—from the earthy pull of a sourdough rye to the airy crunch of a flûte. It’s less about “white or rye” and more about which culinary journey you’d like your sandwich to take. So, I’ll have mine on the wild garlic ciabatta—because why choose ordinary when you can have poetry in every bite?

Another wordpress blogger, I thought you’d seen her blogs. She is more into painting lately and often just posts an idea to a prompt, in this case “bacon sandwich… crispy grilled smoked back bacon on thick-cut doorstop bread with lashings of real butter”.

I did think it was that Ruth but missed her bacon painting hence my confusion
