The prompt lets me think of snowy paths through white forests but so far this hasn’t happened here. My walk took me past barren trees and empty grapevines and when I came into the plain I was greeted by unexpected winter colours – strawberry fields.

Strawberries are perennial but after one or two years the yield gets less, so they are often replaced with new plants – hence a whole field left to go colourful is not that common.
