Gaudy Plumage Is a Birthright
I didn’t think I would quote the same lyrics of HAIR twice in a week but here we are.
I would just like to say
That it is my conviction
That longer hair and other flamboyant affectations
Of appearance are nothing more
Than the male's emergence
From his drab camouflage
Into the gaudy plumage
Which is the birthright of his sex.

Als Böhmen noch bei Österreich war
That’s a song that reminisces about the time when there was an Austro-Hungarian Empire and Bohemia was part of that Empire, i.e. before the first world war. This the beer hall “Zum Schwanen” which opened in 1850 in Teplice (in today’s Czech Republic) and today it is called “Monopol” and still attached to a brewery.
