Best meat and sausages, always freshly butchered.
If the happy, beguiling, little pig doesn’t convince you then maybe the reminder that the meat is “freshly butchered” or in a more literal translation: freshly slaughtered.
I’ve shown this butchery sign before which is not surprising since I can see it on every stroll around our neighbourhood.

Good enough to eat?
There once was a baker who wanted her cakes to be seen.
So for St Patrick’s Day she baked one all pretty and green.
For decorations she decided on shamrock and feet
The cake ended up looking yummy and neat.
And though black the feet were doubtlessly clean.
Up is this way
I knew I would be able to use a photo of the sculpture one day. It’s called “Klenkes” which means “pinkie” and it illustrates a special way that the people of Aachen greet each other.
A look up can be rewarding. If surprising.
And it has been a pleasure through the ages.

These are three establishment around the old bridge (Alte Brücke) in Heidelberg, Goldener Hecht (The golden pike), the Hotel Vier-Jahreszeiten (The Hotel Four Seasons), and I don’t know what the traditional name of the now Korean restaurant was.
