Touting His Wares
Bargain stalls at local fares were called “Cheap Jacob” in former times. The customers were mostly rural people who seldom if ever got in the bigger towns to do their shopping.

The Heidelberg Motor-Boot-Club
in front of the “Heidelberg Childhood-Haus”. The name is a quite unusual mix of English and German as this institute is a part of the Childhood foundation. It was opened in September 2019 by Queen Silvia from Sweden (a native of Heidelberg).

I’m a Fan of the Kanzelbach
The village of Schriesheim, less than 10 kms to the south of us, has a stream running through the village called Kanzelbach. This is not unusual since Schriesheim is built on the slopes of the Odenwald like many other towns and villages along the Bergstraße. Streams descend from the hills, cross the plain and join the River Rhein.
But in Schriesheim they did something special to their little waterway as you can see.
