
If the leaves don’t look like the typical oak leaves, it’s because this is an evergreen oak or holm oak. But the acorns are unmistakable.



Three is a powerful number and often three of the same are used in crests and coat of arms. The three lilies are from the coat of arms of the town of Wiesbaden, the capital of the State of Hesse. The three rings are a medieval symbol for a bishop and this crest is displayed a the front of the Kloster Neuburg near Heidelberg.
As I’ve mentioned before my orchids have had an infestation of mealiebugs. Before I started to treat or throw out the various pots I clipped the blooms off, put them in vases and took photos of them.
