Is It Still Called a Mural

if it’s on the floor?

This shark was on the bottom of the rotunda on centenary square in Birmingham. It doesn’t seem to be there anymore judging from photos on the net but maybe somebody from Birmingham can confirm that.

The Ragtag Daily Prompt: Shark.

Past winter, pre spring

Is it still winter or is it already spring? These weeks are called Vorfrühling in German, i.e. pre-springtime. The weather this weekend was glorious and the trees, still bare, were on the threshold of renewal.

The plant trees look particularly awkward during this time.

But looking around – proper spring can’t be far away.

The first blooms – wild cherry, I believe – are out.

They still conform to Dale’s prompt, though: they come before the leaves.

The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Before the leaves.

I’m a Fan of Orchids

I never thought I’d have orchids, let alone so many. I’ve learned that the right place with the right light is most important to them. And so I am running out of space along their favourite window bank.

All my orchids are rescue orchids. A neighbour in our house discards them as soon as they have shed their first blooms and crams them in the communal garbage bins. I take them out, put them in nice pots and look after them. In turn they reward me with the most glorious blooms about twice a year.

I’m a Fan of … #100.

A Thing of the Past

at least, hopefully, for this year.

Thought I quickly sneak in a last snow picture with this prompt. I like its fixed dimensions, behind the forest the season has already changed.
