Hand me that whatchamacallit!

If you read Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman you will know that there was a Sir Joshua Device, a Sir Humphrey Gadget, a Pietr Gizmo, a Cyrus T. Doodad and an Ella Reader Widget – they all invented “things so simple and universally useful that everyone forgot that they’d ever actually needed to be invented” and the utensils were named after them. I’m pretty sure that one of the thingies in my photos has been invented by Angus Watchamacallit, a Scottish inventor of (forgotten) renown.

I’ll meet you at the park

It was exhilarating watching these two dogs meat each other in the local park.

They literally jumped with joy – right out of my picture but I couldn’t leave this shot out of the series.

Born with wings

I’m usually too slow to photograph birds in flight. So I appreciated the strong winds that held the seagulls in a steady position. Also thanks to the kestrels I’ve photographed over the years – their hovering made it easier.

And I am adding this photo of these great egrets who were visiting for a few days on their way south for the winter. They didn’t let me get close enough for a good shot but I managed to snap them taking.
