I was very confused when I first saw this. Are there wild hummingbirds in Germany? Almost: It is a hummingbird hawk moth. I only discovered the proboscis on the photos.

It was a silly performance and in the audience was a man known as Bubbles – and that’s the honest truth.

And this time I’ll add the portrait version of the same shot because it illustrates what a difference in perspective the format of a picture makes.

Whereas the square shot directs the viewer to the actual view beyond those narrow walls, the portrait version emphasises the path. At least, that’s how I see it.
