From straight lines to round vats and clear glasses
I’ve always found the rows of vines in a vineyard with a vanishing point in the distance make good photos. We went on a wine walk yesterday – basically a stroll through the vineyards of one village with tents put up at intervals where one can sample the local wine and different kinds of food. The weather wasn’t great but it least it didn’t rain and the cold was the right incentive to try out the more than 20 red wines on offer (not to mention the whites and rosés). Not that the thousands of people needed much of an incentive!

Park in winter
These are a few of the paths of the castle grounds in Schwetzingen, Germany. The gardens are famous for incorporating various styles from various epoches. These cone shaped boxwood bushes are part of the earliest, formal style. In winter they stand out more because they are evergreen next to the bare-branched trees and bushes.

One church, four views
I approached this church, walking up a slight incline. I tried the tree on the right as a frame:

Although the subject lends itself to a portrait format because of the spire I prefer the first and second shot (the second more than the first).
