If you ever were to drive through Saudi Arabia you’d wonder why all the mosques are adorned with green neon lights. Muhammad once stated that his favourite colour was green but I sincerely doubt that he was thinking of neon green. As somebody who lived in a desert he might have thought of natural greens: grass, trees, leaves, and the like. But neon green it is, even in the smallest towns.

Bulcolic Nostalgia

I used a filter called bandicoot on photoscape, it’s a softer, slightly greenish monochrome filter that lends itself to old-fashioned views without using outright brown sepia. Monochrome Madness: Out in the Country

Blue Skies Can Be Deceptive

It might have been sunny on this day but the flag flying in the stiff breeze tells a different story: it’s windy.

Sometimes the wind around this castle ruin – appropriately called Windeck (windy corner) – is so strong that it splits the white and blue flag.

I don’t mind the cold as such – there is proper clothing to protect against it. But what really makes me cold is:

A fierce wind that goes through ones bones is what makes me cold.
