The Deutsche Weinstraße in Autumn

Even in the original this almost looks like a knitted sweater straight out of the 70s.

Original

The original photo already has elements of the impressionist, even the pointillist style. So I just enhanced this aspect.

Impressionistic

This version is softer and blurry, even vague.

Oil painting

The last edit seems like a combination between bold lines and washed out colour shapes.

Cartoon

The editing was done with photoscape.

From a Distance

From distance most things do indeed look placid and peaceful.

If you are thinking of the Bette Midler song from the title – I was, too. An incredibly popular song which personally I detest with a vengeance. I find it incredibly cynical and would take great offence at this portrayal of a (Christian) god – one who watches from the distance and revels in his pretty and peaceful creation which is neither peaceful nor are there any guns, bombs and diseases. And he keeps watching, patting himself on the shoulder and not doing anything – if I believed in his existence.

Of Opinions and Nipples

“Opinions are like nipples, everybody has one. Some have firm points, others are barely discernible through layers, and some are displayed at every opportunity regardless of whether the audience has stated “I am interested in your nipples” or not.”

David Thorne, The Internet is a Playground

And some opinions are just cannot stay hidden!
