Half or Hyper?

Mistletoe varieties are called half parasites. Some are called hyper parasites (because they grown on another parasite).

These are common viscum album, white flowering mistletoe. Being an evergreen they are well suited as Christmas decorations and beloved by sexual predators. But in case of this particular poplar it might be okay to speak of a super or hyper parasitic infestation.

Pentecost Weekend Trios

Pentecost weekend is excursion time for many Germans. If the weather plays along – all the better. The three cyclists certainly liked it that way.

For some the destination was the Bienenmarkt (bee market) in Michelstadt, the biggest county fair in the Odenwald. Locally it has the reputation of being a “puddle party” because of the traditionally wet weather. As you can see, tradition was not followed this year, and three cabins of the ferris wheel prove the point.
