I’m not sure if chair-o-planes or swing caroussel is the right word in English but we call these fairground rides Kettenkarussell or chain caroussels.
A Sky to Meet an Emperor
We’ve had a few glorious days this week. Blue skies, no clouds. And I was reading Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver with our grandson. And Luke says that on the day he wants to meet the Emperor of Mandala. And a blue sky like that is often called Kaiserwetter (although Kaiser means emperor I think a fit translation would be “royal weather”).

When I hear plump the first thing I think of is birds, preferably chicken. But pigeons work, too, it seems.
A Risqué Name
The Ragtag Daily Prompt and Fandango’s prompt for FOWC came together serendipitously for me today.
And yes, I am known by this name. That’s the name many people have in the phonebooks. And they call me that name, too, although often only Knicker or Knickers. I have T-shirts and jackets with that name and even a business card with that name on it. It’s difficult to explain to outsiders although the story behind it is a lot less risqué than what the embroidered picture suggests.
