Travel Challenge #2

I was nominated by Teresa  and by Margaret to post one favorite travel picture a day for ten days without explanation, then to nominate someone else to participate. That’s 10 days, 10 travel images, and 10 nominations.

The photos I am going to show in this challenge are from travels around Germany and where chosen to introduce my German language students to various German sites.

Here is my second one:

Today I would like to nominate geriatrix . There is no pressure to participate, though. But if you like to share some of your travel photos, have fun!

I understand “no explanations” – but I think I need to comment somewhat. The challenge came at the right time as today was the last day of teaching for me – COVID lockdown has closed the school. And the last days of teaching were concerned with Germany, its towns and sights. So the photos I am going to show in this challenge are from travels around Germany and where chosen to introduce my students to various German sites.

So here is my first one:

Peggy lost an arm

After this picture was taken, Peggy lost an arm and he could not longer walk down his ladder – much to the dismay of grandad who enjoyed playing with him more than any of his grandchildren.

I’m a fan of crowns

Crests often feature crowns

and so do restaurants in their signs.

Some wear crowns better than others but these all wear theirs perfectly.

A crowning achievement.

Gnomes not elves for Christmas

All of these gnomes where photoshopped with an online programme called LunaPic. I like their art feature which renders a photo in the style of certain artist like van Gogh, Rembrandt, da Vinci, Gauguin, Renoir … and a caleidoscope and a bauble thrown in for good measure.

This was almost the original (background eliminated):
