Walking without sunshine

I was on a walk this morning, catching the last autumn colours in the plain.

In the vineyards all the grapes were harvested.

On the slopes are more empty vines, leading up to the old quarry.

The forest slowly claims the quarry back. It is now used by paragliders for launching.

And although the weather was suitably grey for an autumn morning, a paraglider was coming down.

Autumn is the mellower season, and what we lose in flowers we more than gain in fruits.”

Renowned heroes, worthy of praise

If you know something of the Nibelungenlied you know that Hagen killed Siegfried at a brook while he was kneeling down to have a drink. There are at least eight places in the Odenwald which claim to be the place where it all happened. Quite interesting, isn’t it?

The photos were taken at the Lindelbrunnen in Hiltersklingen.
