Can I call you Sam?

Mark Twain

I couldn’t find any evidence that Mark Twain was ever in Lüneburg, although he spent a considerable amount of time in Germany.  But now he sits next to the river Ilmenau in the middle of town and is open to any kind of discussion you would like to have with him.

To the end of my veranda – and beyond!

Something good that happened over he last month?  —  I made a new acquaintance:

A little riot police man and his dog.  What attracted me was his face mask (which he wore under a helmet which I lost).  Introduced him to other chaps and he immediately set about to teach them about masks.

He became Corona-Man.  And soon started to dress even more appropriately, spreading the word to everybody around:

Lightbulb moments

2016 lightbulb

When our lightbulb in the guest toilet broke, I decided to change the whole fitting not just the bulb.  And why not have some fun in this room?

Fun fact: In German, a lightbulb is not a bulb but a pear (Glühbirne).

Q:  How many Germans does it take to change a lightbulb?

A: One.  We are very efficient.  And don’t have any humour.
