Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge wants colours that start with the Letter S – I found all these colours named after foods: saffron, salmon, sangria, sage, and strawberry.  It was great practice for Tourmaline’s Color Your World Challenge which will start next week.

But in the meanwhile, more colours starting with S can be found here.

Max and Moritz

Max und Moritz Apotheke

These two are quite famous in Germany and are credited to be the predecessors to modern cartoons.  They are the creation of writer and artist Wilhelm Busch.  Even if you don’t speak German have a look at the book.

A pharmacy in Bad Homburg, a town near Frankfurt, Germany, has taken their name and their adorned its premises with their likeness.

Another Monday Mural hosted by Oakland Daily Photo.  For more of them, have a look here.

On reflection

34 reflection

On reflections (and a searching and whetting) this is my only photo that combines reflection and holidays.

May there be friends and peace for you in the coming days, and may you find time to reflect but also look forward with hope.

More seasonal reflections can be found at Nancy’s A Photo A Week.

Brick said: I like an arch

The Abbey of Lorsch is a UNESCO world heritage site, close to Worms in the Rhine Valley, about 60km south of Frankfurt. It was an important monasteries during the Carolingian times.  Through one of the arches of the “kingdom hall” one can look upon the monastery’s church.

There are innumerable ways to play with these arches and their vistas. This time I preferred to try out desaturation.
