We were at the zoo on Friday and while the children were playing with sand and water us adults were relaxing in the shade when this peacock made an appearance. It didn’t stand still for two seconds so I only managed the oddest collection of pictures, most – but not all – blurry and out of focus, including a shot of his horny, yet elegant feet.
And this was the best head shot I got:

I have a friend who lives in Sunderland and has this gorgeous view on Roker Beach every morning for breakfast.

Although the yellow being striking and the defining feature of the water flag or yellow iris, I quite like the monochrome version because the petals stand out and have an almost tactile quality to them.

I came upon several of these ice baubles with the remains of a tea candle in the middle, apparently the leftovers from a street party the night before.

These photos were taken at the Bundesgartenschau in the Havel region in 2015. The BuGa is a biennial federal horticultural show in Germany. It takes place in different cities or regions. The cities take the occasion to improve on their parks and gardens, and besides the flower displays, which are often stunning, to create lasting structures which can be enjoyed for years to come by residents and visitors alike.
