These pictures are from a fountain which changes colours. I picked out the ones that were right for the challenge:
Musical chair
In Germany the children’s game is known as “The journey to Jerusalem” – I have no idea why – but the rules are the same. This particular chair might lead you to your own happy place.
Windows
I find windows fascinating and enjoy taking pictures of them.
They can show off with their forms, or ornaments, or colours, or all of the above.
Yet others like to hide:
Don’t you think that the ones on the right look as if they are peaking out from under the roof like a cat would from under a bedspread?
Still others deceive the onlooker:
The splendid frame around this is trompe l’oeil – painted on the wall but the window is real enough.
They often come in pairs:
which offers opportunities to play around with symmetry – or not.
Some are individuals
whether they are abandoned (at least for a while)
or not.
Mein Weinheimer Dreigestirn
I think Christmas times in South Africa have spoilt me for years to come: I rather have hot weather, sunshine, braai vleis, and lazing around the swimming pool than the North and Middle European variety. But for what it’s worth I was happy to receive one of these little wooden figures each year as a present from my home town, and they have been part of our Christmas decorations every since.
