Brother and sister hard at play.

What’s the opposite of blah? I would love some cold and snow and white – instead we had weather that is too warm for the season but not comfortable, no deluges but also not really dry (which I can tell by the mud I drag into the house after a walk), greyish sky, with the occasional foggy periods. In other words: it’s been blah.
So I thought I pick a photo that is not perfect as a photo but I think that conveys the joy of being outdoors.

It’s not cold enough for proper ice yet. The pond is about to freeze – possibly.

These girls are trying to pull the float across the ice.

And as long as there is no proper ice around, I’ll have to go and buy my ice at the petrol station.

I was on a long hike in the Pfälzerwald today. The weather is turning and the light filtering through the greenish yellow leaves was muted and transformed the forest which had been gay and light only a a day ago. Friends have told me that this year is very good for mushrooms and although it is said that the delicious porcini mushrooms grow in close proximity to the fly agaric I could only find the poisonous red caps with white dots. Just as well – they may be deadly but are much more photogenic.
At A Photo a Week it’s open season this week, or rather an open topic. Have a look what others made with this freedom of choice.
Car number plates are signs and in Germany they (sometimes) make words. I’ve been collecting them and here are all words I found on cars from F for Frankfurt.
I want to stay

now with the

season approaching. I think I can

this by dressing warmly.
I hope I won’t look too

wearing my fake

This should go

to letting me feel and look
