Six starlings for One Word Sunday.

I’m a fan of magpies
I saw this magpie last week sitting up in a tree and I marvelled how beautiful it was.
They are around but usually don’t let me get close.
There are exceptions to the rule.
After the harvest surprise
I saw this stork stalking through the cut off wheat stalks (oh my!) and grabbed my camera. If I noticed the two spots in the back to the left of him, I didn’t give them a second thought.

I got closer. Magnificent bird, I thought, totally focused on the stork.

I zoomed in. What a wonderful bird!

Only at home, when I had transferred the photos to my computer and saw them on the larger screen, I realised that those brown, indistinct lumps had ears.

Negative space

A negative circle is a hole, I guess, except in this case.
For One Word Sunday: circle. More circular photos or photos of circles can be found here.
Up, down and across

For Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: steps indoors and out. Mine happen to be all outdoors.

The blue bird of happiness

This mural, created by Holger Kurt Jäger, adorns the outside wall of a children’s daycare centre. Inside the grounds the artist worked with the children, painting walls and using stencils:

Another wall was decorated a few years earlier, unfortunately there are spaces for cars right in front.

Another mural on a Monday, seen in Düsseldorf, Germany, on the outside of a nursery. The artist is Holger Kurt Jäger.
